As kids continue learning remotely amid the pandemic, parents struggling with their new found roles as tutors could use some creative help in the form of SEMA. This free- to- download android & iOS app is fashioned after an animated heroine empowering kids with literacy and numeric skills.
Sema is the brainchild of Kenyan software developers. The app combines locally-inspired storytelling with literacy methodologies.
Also watch kids get fun STEM lessons from Sema here. From coming up with cool math formulae to creating slime and even Elephant toothpaste!
Sema's developers are currently working on expanding her digital footprint into books, a TV series, videos, and consumer products so watch out for that.
