The December Edition of Blankets & Wine, Kenya's longest-standing music and cultural festival, is turning up the temperature this season! On December 22, 2024, the vibrant Laureate Gardens at Moi International Sports Center, Kasarani, will be the stage for The Kenyan Summer — a celebration of homegrown talent, culture, and creativity.

This year's festival, themed "Fully Kenyan", is a love letter to Kenya's artistic brilliance. Expect a sensational lineup of music acts and DJs that will have you swaying to rhythms that feel as warm as the December sun.

The Main Stage: Where Legends and Stars Shine

At the heart of the event are iconic acts like Nyashinski, Necessary Noize, and Wakadinali — each bringing their unique energy to the festival. Whether it's Nyashinski's soulful rap, Necessary Noize's reggae classics, or Wakadinali's hard-hitting hip-hop, the main stage is set to thrill.

Rising stars and eclectic performers will add their voices to the mix. The neo-soul and Afro-jazz stylings of Njerae promise to touch hearts, while the dynamic duo Watendawili will electrify with their Afrobeat and hip-hop fusion. Add the soulful vibes of Xenia Manasseh, Idd Aziz's Afro-fusion, and the coastal rhythms of Coaster Ojwang, and you've got a lineup that's as rich as Kenya's cultural heritage.

The DJ Stage: Groove to Kenya's Finest

The second stage will pulse with beats from Kenya's top DJs. KJ Karuga, DJ IV, and Ally Fresh are set to deliver electrifying sets that traverse genres like amapiano, Afro-house, and Kenyan urban sounds. Rising talents like Shinsky, Dylan X, and Vidza will join forces with DJ extraordinaire MGM, creating a sonic journey you won't forget.

Beyond Music: The Onja Onja Market and Family Fun

The Onja Onja Market will feature some of Kenya's finest vendors, offering locally crafted products, art, and gourmet food. From unique gifts to delicious culinary creations, it's the perfect place to indulge in the creativity of Kenyan artisans.

For families, a dedicated family zone ensures there's something for everyone. Kids can enjoy fun activities while parents soak in the vibrant atmosphere.

"The December edition is a tribute to the vibrant spirit of the Kenyan Summer," says Muthoni Ndonga, aka Muthoni the Drummer Queen and Festival Director. "It's a celebration of our artists, our culture, and our community. We're creating an experience for everyone."

This one-day extravaganza kicks off at midday and promises non-stop entertainment until late. With just a month to go, grab your tickets now at www.blanketsandwine.com.

Kenya, it's time to pack your blankets, bring your loved ones, and come ready to bask in the rhythm of The Kenyan Summer. See you on December 22!
