The Viceroy 10-year-old vintage brandy has been awarded as the world's best brandy at the 2018 World Brandy Awards announced in London this week.
The brandy, crafted at the House of Van Ryn, beat fierce competition from South African brands as well as those from the United Kingdom, Germany, Spain and the United States.
Brandy master Wallis Uys of the Van Ryn distillery noted the award underpins the high quality of the brand, "At the distillery, we are continuously striving to create brandies of the highest standard. Only the best grapes are sourced and we hand-select the finest French oak barrels for maturation.  It takes patience and skill to make a brandy that one would only be able to enjoy in 10 years' time. Receiving the World's Best Brandy award is a moment of true celebration for us."
The brandy, which is revered for its smooth character and velvety finish, was launched in Kenya last year targeting the country's market who enjoy premium products. It retails at Ksh. 3,000.

"Viceroy 10 will create a new trend of drinking brandy for the discerning adult drinkers. It is packaged in an attractive bottle with an engraved signature which is the hallmark of quality and authenticity of the product. After the launch event last year, we coordinated countrywide activations to take the premium brandy experience to the consumers.   The Best in the world, and proudly enjoyed in Kenya," stated Lina Githuka, KWAL Commercial Director.
