KB: Congratulations on your new album 'Savage Level'. What's the story behind its iconic cover?
Savage Level denotes that I'm operating on an untamed level. That I'm unlocking my truth and soul. Savage Level is everyone being the best version of themselves. My album cover's backdrop is of my childhood home surrounded by my childhood friends. It is me going back to my roots and paying homage to my beginnings. The dog is what Kenyans would refer to as a "Kenyan Shepherd". This Mutt is considered an underdog but it operates on Savage level. It has the energy of a wild, untamed dog. It's all very symbolic.
KB: How has this Alone Together* journey been for you so far?
It's been amazing so far. The fans have been very supportive of us. We've all gotten a chance to experience our individuality away from the band Sautisol. We love and enjoy each other's company but working on our solo projects has allowed us to grow and experience other things. It's amazing to see how much potential we each have individually and we've grown in ways we never thought possible.

KB: How did you find time to work on a solo project when Sauti Sol has been pulling crowds everywhere?
It took me one and a half years to put this album together. It was a culmination of a lot of ideas I've been working on as a beat maker and lyricist. Demos I've worked on over the past few years like the song Anxiety was actually written two years ago. I worked on the vocal and instrument arrangement as I toured the world in places like Sweden and Mali and that's why the album has a global sound to it. This is a body of work that I really worked hard on.
KB: We got a taste of 'Savage Level' when you released the single 'Balance' in Dec 2021 and it was a banger! What else can we expect from this album?
This album is diverse and caters to everyone. From mellow to upbeat sounds. If you like deep music there's the single Anxiety, if you like reggae the album has Reggae ya Kinyozi. I served a cocktail of sounds. There's something for everyone.
KB: Where can Savarians access the album?
Savarians can access and purchase the album on all streaming platforms. Thank you for supporting Savage Level!
