For the next 11 weeks, Eneza Education, an edtech company that offers revision and learning material via basic phones, will partner with Telco company Safaricom and UNESCO to offer FREE Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math or STEM mentorship programs to teens in Kenya. This couldn't have come at a better time. Day 1 million in quarantine and you're probably not cut out for this teaching thing huh? Having a hard time with the science assignments? Need a little inspiration? Here you go. Enroll your teens.
The program involves STEM professionals providing students with information on STEM subjects to enable them to make informed career choices. Learners will get to interact with tutors through programmes on local TV and over 40 community radio stations as well as through SMS via the short code 40291.
Statistics show that only 22% of all students enrolled in Kenyan universities are in STEM fields despite the large number of related programmes on offer and the critical role they play in development.
This STEM program will go a long way in helping equip students with specialized skills to meet a changing world. This can be nearly impossible for parents who are struggling to stay abreast of new developments in science, tech, engineering, and math.
This program will help teens discover multimedia experiences that combine video, animation and; games to delve into fascinating scientific topics.
