Laws of Love has set itself apart as a telenovela that not only tells interesting love stories about its characters but also offers insightful societal values that viewers can learn from. Here are some of the themes that the law telenovela highlights about society:
1.Family Values
Family issues is always an important theme in telenovelas but Laws of Love has managed to highlight it in a different way. Through Ricardo, we are able to see the unconditional love of a father. Although he is not the real father to Elena's children, he recognizes them as his children and continues to see them even after getting divorced from their mother. Ricardo has gone as far as ending his relationship with Alejandra and is willing to go to court to get visiting rights to see his children.
  1. Corruption
Corruption is also a theme that executed well on the show. Since the telenovela is set within Mexico's law system, there is a lot of corruption to be seen from judges and lawyers. The characters however do everything to fight the system and seek justice for the oppressed.
  1. Women's rights
Laws of Love goes above and beyond to see the rights for women are fought for. Through Victoria, we get to see a strong woman who is eager to use the law to help other women in need. She was able to seek justice for her friend who died from marital abuse and is building a foundation with Alejandra to provide a shelter for women.
