Phewks! Diego Maradona is doing fine. The Argentinian football legend was in attendance as his country played alongside the Nigerian Eagles at the World Cup in Russia and he was fully engaged despite being just a spectator. He cheered, jeered, held his breath, probably cussed a few times as it seemed as though our African stars would beat the football giant that is Argentina. However, it was a real health scare when he collapsed during the match.
According to BBC Sport, the 57-year old has played 91 times for his country scoring 34 goals and it's understandable why he cried when the score was 1-1 to Nigeria's. Our African heroes lost which means Argentina will proceed to the next leg of the World Cup, facing France on Saturday.
Maradona had to be checked by the medical staff and he later posted on social media that he was doing fine. Such passion for his country!
