La Desalmada (The Heartless) is a 2021 show staring Livia Brito, Jose Ron, and Eduardo Santamarina. It is an adaptation of Colombian telenovela, La Dama De Troy, produced by Jose Alberto Castro for Televisa.
The telenovela follows the story of a young woman named Fernanda Linares (Livia Brito). She is a humble woman who loves the countryside and is looking forward to living a happy life with her beloved fiancé, Santiago in the small town of Ichámal. Her happiness only lasts for a day when Santiago is brutally murdered by a group of masked men on their wedding night. Fernanda is also raped, shot and left for dead but she miraculously survives. She swears to avenge the people who hurt her.
Three years later, Fernanda meets Rafael (José Ron) and she falls deeply in love with him, but mistakes him for the man who harmed her. She realizes her error when her memories clear and she recognizes Rafael's father, Octavio, as the man who ruined her life. Fernanda gets married to Rafael, using her marriage as a way to get into the Octavio's household and gather evidence against him.
Fernanda is faced with the dilemma of either finding justice by unmasking the father of the man she loves or forgetting the past and being happy with Rafael. What will she decide to do?
