The movie The Pope's Exorcist draws inspiration from the life and literary works of Father Gabriele Amorth, the former Vatican chief exorcist during the 1980s. Russell Crowe portrays Amorth, who investigates a young boy's spine-chilling possession and uncovers a centuries-old conspiracy that the Vatican has strived to conceal.
The film, which premiered on Good Friday (fittingly), has sparked controversy. The International Association of Exorcists (IAE) has criticized the film's "pretentious" title and Da Vinci Code-like plot, suggesting that it instills "unacceptable doubt" in the minds of viewers about who the real adversary is - the devil or ecclesiastical authority. As a result, they have urged Catholics to disregard the film.

However, personally, the IAE's statement has only increased my interest in watching it. The trailer gave me a fright, compelling me to believe that it is worth viewing. Watch all the exorcism controversy by getting tickets on KenyaBuzz.
