Romance is my favorite genre, but oddly enough, not when it comes to movies. It's a genre that thrives on slow, meaningful development, yet films often rush through it. Still, I can never resist a good love story, so I'm always open to giving them a shot. Bridget Jones: Mad About the Boy falls right into this category. While the trailer didn't immediately hook me, the premise intrigues me enough to give it a chance.
This installment follows Bridget, now a widowed mother of two in her fifties, struggling with the overwhelming loss of her husband and the love they shared. Encouraged by her friend, she ventures into online dating but realizes she's in over her head. Just when she believes romance is behind her, two unexpected suitors enter her life; her son's science teacher and a much younger man.
I'm curious to see how her journey unfolds. Will she find love again? And if so, who will she choose, if she chooses at all?
