Sci-fi fans in Kenya, exciting news! Dune, the 2021 sci-fi hit, adapted from Frank Herbert's 1965 novel has been re-released and is back in theaters. As rival factions vie for control of the planet's vital resource, only those who conquer fear will endure. Described by Glenn Kenny of Vulture as a futuristic geo-political allegory with anti-corporate and pro-eco-radical themes, Dune has seen two previous attempts at cinematic adaptation, in the mid-70s and 1984.
The third attempt, released in 2021 was somehow successful despite being released amidst a pandemic.
This re-release is a primer for the "Dune 2". Which is only a couple of weeks away so our long-awaited return to Arrakis is almost here! Check out the trailer below

The sequel was expected in November 2023 but the Hollywood writers strikes affected that as the cast wouldn't have been able to promote the movie. Director Denis Villeneuve has promised that the sequel will be worth the extended wait though.
At a press conference in December 2023, he claimed that Dune Part Two is "much better than Part One".
If you missed out on the thrill of watching Dune on the big screen in 2021, here's your chance.
