When was the last time you saw a peacock in all its beauty or antelopes grazing while you had lunch? Dari prides itself on its location because it embraces the nature around it. The open space and the wildlife around make it inviting and gives the places a sense of relaxation. We took tons of photos if only to capture the peacock's tail but refused to bloom out in my presence. Sorry to my Instagram fans.
I started my food journey with a glass of 'hot' dawa which is a mix of sugar, ginger and lemon to beat the chilly day. Our waiter, Vincent, then came and took our orders and we decided to have their signature dish; steak on stone, roast potatoes as starch and vegetables. They have sirloin and the fillet for those of us who are not keen on a lot of fatty meat.
The steak was brought to us, as well as a hot stone grill set which has been heated. We then placed our steak on the hot stone grill and added a little cooking oil to prepare as we ate. This gave us the chance to have our meat however we wanted it. Mine was a little overcooked just how I liked it and after adding a little salt, the delicious flavour only made me want some more.
The steak was also very tender. "Our meat is usually treated for twelve days before it is served, "said Edwin, the General Manager of Dari Restaurant when I asked him about the food. This has been there for four years now.
The restaurant has also introduced a new menu which people have been responding well to. This includes the picnic menu which you can have at the picnic grounds.
If you are looking to enjoy a gourmet away from the bustle of the city, Dari Restaurant is the place to be. The nature around the place also makes it all the more chilled.
