How many times do you see Brits and Americans working together? It's a captivating TV series with enough twists to keep you hooked about the power plays between the CIA and the MI6.
The Rundown
This British television series stars Mark Strong (Kingsman: Golden Circle) as Max Easton, a retired MI6 officer. His retirement life in a small town in France is quiet, peaceful and happy where he lives with his wife Anna (played by Lyne Renee) and his two girls. However, a series of events and a call from London turns his life upside down and puts his family in danger. Disaster is looming, but things are not as they seem.
Hits;
-The show takes you out of the ordinary and transports you to war-torn countries and you get a different picture of the powers at play. The stakes feel really high.
-Max Easton's motives and dilemmas really play out well in the show. You get to understand his difficult choices and also understand his ruthlessness.

-I don't know French apart from words such as belle femme *wink, wink* but the dialogues between Anna and his brother Noah are quite interesting.
-With each reveal in the episodes, you get to see the bigger picture which only makes you all the more hooked.
Misses;
-Some scenes feel sloppy like when Anna finds the video her husband had left her explaining that he's an assassin. The video was what, less than 5 minutes!? Argh.
-There are too few characters that bring comic relief. We can't just be talking about bombs and government espionage details the whole damn time.
My OMG Scene;
The revelations only get better. When Syed (played by Zubin Varla) took to the desert to shoot Harry (Max Easton's son, played by Joe Dempsie), I was expecting death. But what he did threw me off balance and I guess that also changed the plot of the show.
I give it a 4/5.
