The production is part of Televisa's project "Fabrica de Suenos" which is aimed at recreating some of their most successful productions from recent years. Among the shows chosen for the project include Ruby, Corazon Salvaje, Corona de Lagrimas, La Usurpadora among others. The Telenovelas will however be limited to 25 episodes each.
The first Telenovela to be produced will be La Usurpadora and shooting is set to begin in April. Chilean Actor Andres Palacios has been given the lead role of Carlos Daniel. He recently starred on Flight to Victory as Raul. Andres Palacios will be joined by Mexican actress Ximena Rubio who will play twins Paula and Paulina. The roles were previously played by Fernando Colunga and Gabriela Spanic.
