There is no doubt that weddings are a big deal in this country. The popularity of this post and the longevity of a particular wedding show on a local television station, even with its lack of creativity, is enough proof.
Couples are going to the extent of having personal wedding websites where they share pictures, updates of their planning stages, travel and accommodation ideas for destination weddings, gift registry and a countdown to their big day. It has become that serious.
Long gone are the days when village women would gather at dawn to make food for a neighbour's daughter's wedding or young men meet at church to decorate the bridal party's cars. Today when Kenyans jump the broom, they do so in style by enlisting planners, caterers, bakers, photographers and other related service providers who at a fee, make the entire process a smooth ride.
Here are some of the top sites that offer some of these services:
1| Kenya Weddings
Too much is going on the Kenya Weddings home page. But judging by its 379, 588 Facebook likes and number of ads on it, it is the most popular wedding site in the land. It lists three main categories: venues, honeymoon and wedding services which are all further sub-categorized and listed as well on the home page making navigation an easy and pleasant experience. Pinterest page is to-die-for! See more.
2| Wedding Services Kenya
This site is something blue! The home page does not leave any doubt as to what this site is about. Its Fashion and Trends tab is a good category. See more.
3| Weddings Kenya

The pre-dominantly purple theme on this site oozes class. Weddings Kenya is all about service providers. It lists them in different colour-coded categories. It gives its users access to verified service providers and increased market reach to the service providers through their database. See more.
4|The Wedding Fairy
"A memorable wedding, the beginning of a remarkable marriage requires a professional planner. Call us today on…" I love that the Kenya Wedding Fairy does not beat about the bush. There is no wasting time looking for the Contact Us tab. Planning is what this site is about and also includes testimonials from past clients. See more.
5| Dreams Wedding Planners
Dreams Wedding Planners is owned and operated by husband and wife duo Andrew and Peris Masinde. The pictures of the weddings they have planned are enough to prompt you to sign up with them- that is when they eventually do load. Their complete wedding package lists a step by step rundown of what the planner will do for a couple from the first meeting to your special day. On the downside, they don't have a vendors' list. See more.
6| Kenya Wedding Centre
There's wedding planning packages, honeymoon which sadly currently only features one honeymoon package; Academy for registration of their Certified Wedding Specialist Courses; Bridal Area which a sort of blog which has informative articles like "Marriage Requirements in Tanzania" and interesting ones like "Don't Share My Wedding Photos on Social Media"; and finally a vendors tab. Kenya Wedding Centre also publishes a free e newsletter called the e-bride magazine. See more.
7| Kenya Wedding Planners
This page couldn't be pinker if it tried. Kenya Wedding Planners more discusses through articles than gives information on wedding service providers in lists. Yet it claims to "work aside some of the best professional vendors in the wedding and events industry…" See more.
Bonus: Through a Facebook post, the Nairobi Senator Mike Mbuvi Sonko has announced his newly launched Sonko Rescue Team which will among other unbelievable services offer a fleet of luxury limousines for weddings to Nairobi Residents. For free!
