The highly anticipated feature film 'Tagged' is set to premiere on 9th September at Anga Diamond Cinema at 7pm. This captivating film, produced in collaboration between Kenyatta University and Camean Media production, follows their previous successful venture, the award-winning film 'Kasungu Must Go!,' which was released last year. Written and directed by Casper Anachoni, 'Tagged' delves into the lives of two school-going kids whose worlds collide when they get tangled in a dangerous drug ring. Jared, driven by the loss of his mother, is determined to make life better for his little brother. On the other hand, Kareem comes from a background of laxity, making him susceptible to trouble. Despite being enemies, these two classmates face a common threat - Badrue, the former local gang leader seeking revenge after Kareem's betrayal led to the collapse of his drug empire. Keith Victor serves as the film's producer, with Winstone Wechuli as co-producer. Emmanuel Cheptile, a familiar name in the industry, takes on the lead role of Jared. He gained recognition as the best-performing actor at the 2018 Kenya National Drama Festival while attending Kakamega High School. Subsequently, he became a valuable asset for Kenya Institute of Mass Communication's drama club, appearing in 'Powerhouse,' and 'Kasungu Must Go!' as a perpetually bullied form one student. Making his debut in the film industry, Leon Karanja brilliantly portrays Kareem, while Gikaara Mwangi, a well-known figure among Camean Media fans, skillfully plays the role of Badrue. Gikaara has been involved in numerous projects for Camean, including 'Kasungu Must Go,' 'Marry Edge,' and 'Robbed,' among others. Notably, 'Marry Edge,' in which he played the main character, won the Best Short Film of the Year at the 2022 Eldoret Film Festival, triumphing over 'Christmas Love.' The film also features exceptional performances from renowned actors, including Wendy Mokua from Netflix's 'Bangarang's film,' Collins Wesa, Ramona Njeri, and Koi Wangui. Ramona Njeri, who previously appeared in 'Kasungu Must Go!' recently received the Best Actress of the Year award at the Independent Kenya Women Awards 2023 for her portrayal of Miss Kasungu. Don't miss the chance to experience the thrill of 'Tagged' at its exclusive premiere. Ticket prices for the event are Ksh 1000 each, with a special rate of Ksh 1800 for couples.
