Where art thou Eddie Murphy? The actor has not had many projects for a while and we are missing his humorous self on screen. Well, his classic 1992 comedy Boomerang which also starred Robin Givens and Halle Berry has been picked by BET for a TV series adaptation. Unfortunately, Eddie might not be in it.
Boomerang will follow hotshot and suave business executive who has a way with ladies and is every man's envious persona. However, he meets his match in a new boss who arrives to shake things up. Boomerang was popular back then but this new series will focus on a modern workplace. So expect to see lots of millennials, issues to do with changing attitudes at work and how things work nowadays. I'm guessing the new boss will represent this 'new era' storyline in the show. All this will be very fun-packed.
We all know that guy at our Kenyan offices. We don't want to call them a fisi but with slay queens and all, I'm sure a Kenyan version would also be fun to watch. BET has not yet gotten writers or producers which mean there's still time to flesh out an amazing show. The original movie had an all-star cast that had the likes of Chris Rock to Halle Berry.
If you're ready for more laughter after Tiffany Haddish and Kevin Hart's movie, then this series will definitely be the one for you.
