Reel News: "Augure" (Omen) now in Kenya

This January, catch "Augure" Omen directed by Baloji. It is Belgium's official submission for the 'Best International Feature Film' at the 96th Academy Awards and is now showing in Kenya. The film, shot in the Democratic Republic of Congo, explores destiny, beliefs, and family dynamics, portraying characters accused of witchcraft. Baloji, born in the DRC, is a renowned musician and filmmaker.

"Omen" was a Cannes Official Selection 2023 and boasts a four-part soundtrack. The film has earned accolades at various festivals such as: Special Mention - Tübingen Francophone Festival 2023, Best Director - Sitges 2023, Best Achievement in Editing and First Debut Feature by a director - African Movie Academy Awards (AMAA) 2023, Prix de la direction - Angoulême Francophone Film Festival 2023 and Prix de la Nouvelle Voix at Un certain regard - Cannes 2023.
