Nigerian Afrobeat artist and songwriter Michael Adebayo Olayinka, also known as Ruger highly anticipated show at the renowned Shoke Shoke festival that was originally scheduled for 29th July has been postponed.
In a statement through the festival's Instagram account post, the event organizers announced that the event had been rescheduled to September 9thdue to the ongoing 'maandamano' demonstrations in Nairobi.
"The safety and well-being of our suppliers, vendors artists, partners and most importantly you - our valued attendees- are of utmost importance to us. We believe moving the festival forward to a future date will ensure a secure and enjoyable experience for everyone involved. While the decision wasn't taken lightly, we firmly believe that it is the best interest of all to provide a serene and secure environment where you can fully immerse yourself in the festivities without any concerns." The statement said.
The statement confirmed that Ruger and Sun-El Musician, along with other acts, will perform on the new festival date. Current tickets remain valid for the rescheduled event.
The 'Bounce' hitmaker will share the stage with sensational Kenyan trio Wakadinali group made up of Scar Mkadinali, Domani Munga and Sewersydaa. Regular tickets for the event are going for Ksh 2,000 while VIP is Ksh 6,000.
