You know him from Too Early For Birds, a stage production centered around Kenyan history, and other iconic cultural endeavors around Kenya. Ngartia is one of Kenya's most multifaceted artist and he is making a long-awaited return to poetry after nearly a decade with Dai-Verse.
This special show promises a captivating blend of spoken word pieces from Ngartia's extensive career, interwoven with live musical performances.
The audience can expect a journey through various themes expressed in English, Sheng', and Kiswahili, accompanied by the musical talents of Chemutai Sage, Vini Ngugi (TLVSN), Timothy Arinaitwe (TLVSN), M³, Septad, and Sho.
Directed by Nyokabi Macharia, known for her work on platforms like Big Mouth (Netflix), Country Queen (Netflix), and County 49 (Showmax), the show will offer two sessions on April 21, 2024: one starting at 2 pm and another at 6 pm. Ngartia, who has ventured into theatre and film alongside his poetry, often explores themes of identity and historical context in his work.
