Chelsea fan favorite Mason Mount has posted a farewell video to the fans and fraternity of his boyhood club. The 24year old who is on his way to join Manchester United joined Chelsea as a six-year-old and came through the ranks of Cobham academy until he made his debut in 2017, making 195 appearances for the Blues senior team.
"Given the speculation for the last six months, this may not come as a surprise to most of you but it doesn't make it easier for me to announce that I have made the decision to leave Chelsea," Mount said in a video message.
"I feel you deserve more than just written statement, so I wanted to tell you directly how grateful I am for all your support for the last 18 years. I know most won't be happy with my decision to leave, but it's what's right at the moment for me and my career.
"We've been through a lot together. From winning the youth, the super cup, the club world cup and of course the unforgettable experience of winning the UEFA Champions league. I want to say thank you to the Chelsea academy coaches Jim Fraser and Neil Bath for being so influential to me from such a young age. All the managers I have worked with at the club and backroom staff, the unsung heroes of Cobham and all my teammates over the years that have become my brothers. My family for the continuous support and most importantly you guys for supporting me all through my career. I wish you all the best" He spoke.
According to football transfer #HereWeGo journalist Fabrizio Romano, Mason Mount is headed to Manchester United on a €60 million deal and he has signed for United until June 2028 with an option for one more year.
