It was a short relationship for David and Regina as trouble continues to plague the Medical Institute. After Gonzalo was fired, Renee took over as director and he has not made things easy for the doctors. He is actively seeking ways to get ahead and fire the doctors he deems loyal to Gonzalo.
One fine opportunity presented itself when David had a fight with Arturo at the Emergency department. Renee ordered Regina to fire one of them to make an example of how the doctors should conduct themselves at the institute. After consideration, Regina decided to fire David because of his fiery and explosive temper. She also put an end to their relationship because it seemed they did not understand each other.
Fortunately, Ana hired David back as head of the Outpatient department. Regina was glad because he would help ease the heavy workload that had followed since she did not have enough doctors. She however sees this as a sign that David has a better connection with Ana.
