Showmax is set to unveil a new Kenyan original series, "Jiji," on 17 June. This youth drama explores the challenging lives of four young girls in Jericho, a low-income settlement in Nairobi, who turn to crime for survival.
The series follows 18-year-old Julz, who will do anything to support her family. Her younger brother's acceptance into a prestigious international school increases her burdens. To cope, Julz and her friends take on a risky job for Jericho's notorious kingpin, Makali, leading to a series of tragic events that change their lives forever.
Directed by Enos Olik, known for "Famous," "Jiji" captures the raw and authentic experiences of life in Nairobi's ghettos.The series promises an intense and heartfelt narrative set in Eastlands, filled with emotional and moral conflicts.
