We've all, at one point or another, been randomly stopped by traffic police and in the ensuing standard procedure of the cop requesting to see your license, shockingly realise that you forgot to carry it. Just your luck!
But, did you know you can digitally pull up your information when needed. Follow these simple steps and stay woke:

1. Open a blank SMS
2. Type DL [space] ID number (E.g. DL 123456789)
3. Send to 22846

Easy peasy. You will immediately get a response text with the following details: Name, National ID, License Expiry Date, License Class, License Status (Valid or Invalid). The service cost is Ksh 10.
An important reminder, the NTSA (National Transport and Safety Authority) have mandated that you must carry your license at all times when driving. Also the verification message you get is not a substitute for the driving license and if you find yourself without one then you will be fined Ksh 1000.
