Alvaro and Samantha's marriage was doomed from the beginning but they both refuse to end it. The couple had just left for their honeymoon when they received news that Alvaro had been sued for bigamy since he was also married to Angela. They had to cut their trip short so that Alvaro could answer to the charges.

Alvaro was able to go free after manipulating Angela but she filed for divorce and ended her relationship with him. Samantha's parents wanted her to end her marriage as well but Samantha would not listen. Instead, she renewed her vows and forced her parents to attend the ceremony. However, this did nothing for their marriage. Alvaro was still fixated on Angela, the woman he actually loves, and only stayed with Samantha because of her fortune.

Feeling neglected, Samantha had an affair with Dario, Alvaro's best friend.  When she found out that Angela was expecting Alvaro's child, she tried to make Angela have a miscarriage. When this failed, she blackmailed Dario so that he would make her pregnant and she would pass the child off as Alvaro's. Dario however ended the affair since he no longer wanted to betray Alvaro.\

Alvaro finally decided that it was time to end his marriage to Samantha after Angela gave birth since he wanted to build a family with her. Samantha however refused and hit Alvaro on the head with a wine bottle, causing him serious injuries. She also threatened to take away all his money since they had signed a prenuptial agreement.

Although Alvaro wants to divorce Samantha, he is unwilling to let go of the fortune he enjoys from being married to her. What decision will he make?
