The Stepmom (La Madrastra ) is a 2022 telenovela produced by Televisa, starring Aracely Arambula and Andres Palacios. The show is a remake of a 2005 drama of the same name which starred Victoria Ruffo and Cesar Evora.

The Stepmom follows the story of Marcia Cisneros, who is accused of murdering Nicolás Escalante and is sentenced to 35 years in prison. Her husband, Esteban Lombardo, considers her not only a murderer but an adulteress who killed her lover to cover up her betrayal, so he abandons her and files for divorce. Since Marcia is innocent, she studies law while in prison to reopen her case and find the real killer.

20 years later, Marcia secures an early release and returns to Mexico to clear her name and be reunited with her children. However, they believe their mother to be dead. To win over her children and investigate the real suspects, she changes her name and introduces herself as Marisa Jones. Marcia forces Esteban to break up with his fiancée in order to marry her, thus becoming the stepmother to her own children. Will she be able to win her family back?
