Daughters of the moon takes a huge turn of events with the sudden death of Juana Victoria. After Estefania's disappearance stint, it was later revealed that she tried to fake her own death in order to take revenge on Juana Victoria for taking Sebastian's love away from her. Juana Victoria was convicted but was later released after Estefania reappeared. She confessed to everything and ended up in jail herself.
Dario, Estefania's father was dejected by what happened to Estefania and hence sought revenge against Sebastian and Juana Victoria. He got someone to poison Juana Victoria during her sisters' wedding and she collapsed in the middle of the ceremony! When the paramedics arrived, they soon announced her death and an examination of her corpse revealed that she was indeed poisoned.
