It's the first week of October and you know what that means! It's time to show some love and appreciation to your great customer service team for all the hard work they have been putting in serve and support your customers.
Customer Service Week is celebrated globally during the first full week in October whereby customer-oriented institutions recognise the importance of customer service excellence to their organisations.
This week isn't solely about your employees, but also about the people who have sustained the company - your clients. It's the time to give back to them for being loyal to you.
Frankly, this hasn't been a common tradition in Kenya over the years, but this year has seen major improvement among Kenyan companies and we have seen them making an extra effort to make their workforce feel love and appreciated.
If you're an employer who does not have the slightest idea on what to do during this week (or if you forgot about it altogether, yikes!), it's never too late to show your employees that you value them. Here are a few cost-effective tips for you to try out to put a smile on their faces and ultimately give them the zeal to work harder:

There's nothing that a good old chocolate fudge cake can't fix. Add a little message to create an even better effect and throw in some of those sparkling candles if you want to get people in a celebration mood.
2. Lunch treat

Do not hesitate to take full advantage of the ongoing Pizza Festival (buy one, get one free), that way you'll have a happy staff without breaking the bank. There are over 80 pizza outlets to choose from in Nairobi and Mombasa. There's bound to be one close to you.

Those humongous cards ought to do the trick on this special week. It can be hang in a central area where they can read it throughout the week, adding a little message wouldn't hurt either.
4. Have a giveaway

We all know most Kenyans love free stuff so why not go for it? It doesn't have to be a ridiculous amount that will leave your budget in tatters, just a few vouchers will do.
5. Discounts
Lowering the price of your product or service just for this week will do a lot in making your clients happy, so get to chopping!
