What's the Buzz about Coca-Cola Girl?
Four-year-old girl, Joy Jebiwott from Baringo county went viral over the weekend when images of her holding a Coke bottle surfaced online. The photographer Daggy Shy, who took the images on April 22nd, did not anticipate the overwhelming reception that went into a full-blown campaign for an endorsement deal for Jebiwott, now dubbed #CocaColaGirl.However, Coca-Cola could not accord Kenyans their request because of its stringent policies on marketing and advertising using children. Whereas a faction of netizens blasted the multi-national corporation, another criticized the seemingly disappointed Kenyans for feeling "entitled". Here are some of the reactions;
This young girl from Baringo is the most authentic representation of 'Taste the feeling'. Priceless. She deserves recognition from @CocaCola pic.twitter.com/IUcuvbXApI

Sponsor her education on what basis? Kenyans & entitlement. Organizations have regulations on their marketing, CSR activities & product development. Don't force Coca Cola to do as you wish just coz some kid was photographed with a Coke bottle! Several others will come out.
