The season for the final stretch is here for Kenyan candidates and their families as the final exams approach; a stress-filled moment that can be very tough and unbearable. This imaginative and enjoyable method, the Exam Survival Time Capsule, is guaranteed to make this stressful time memorable and more manageable. This initiative provides an opportunity to look back and laugh once it's all done, in addition to helping capture the essence of this difficult time.
Creating The Time Capsule
The time capsule can be an ordinary old bottle or container. The size depends on the number of items one would like to put inside, but the bigger the better to allow room for more items.
Items to Include
Students can take photos using a camera or phone and print them, then place them into the capsule to record their experiences as they study for exams. Take pictures of things like buying stationery for the exams, enjoying delightful meals with family, and writing a passionate letter to their future selves that they can later look back on. Encourage children to record their emotions on paper whenever they feel overwhelmed, and add it to the capsule as frequently as possible, especially when feeling stressed.
Parents can prepare individual notes with sayings, puns, and motivating statements to contribute. Give the candidate these messages every day to offer support and motivation. After, the candidate can include these encouraging messages in their time capsule.
Once the exams are done, seal the time capsule before opening it at the earliest when the results have been released, for a good laugh. Enjoy the nostalgic look back as you reflect on the journey experienced.
