The High Note is a musical comedy-drama (dramedy) about the complicated relationship between superstar singer Grace Davis (Tracee Ellis Ross) and her ambitious personal assistant- Maggie (Dakota Johnson).
Maggie spends all her time catering to the whims of her sometimes overbearing boss Grace Davis. Beyond her consuming role as an assistant, she dreams of making the jump to working as a music producer. So she reaches out to the stars- literally.
She hounds established and up-and-coming figures in her industry to give her a chance and even attempts to switch up her boss's style of music.
Maggie's ambitious plans rub some in Grace's entourage the wrong way but her tenacity pays off.

The main takeaway from this movie is to reach for the stars. To follow your dreams and fix your own table if "they" won't let you sit with them.
The high note currently has a 70% fresh rating on movie review site Rotten Tomatoes. Watch it for yourself on the big screen. Buy tickets from KenyaBuzz.
