Jose Emilio and Angelli were able to get married even after Rebecca tried her best to break them apart. She sent a letter to Jose Emilio, claiming that Angelli's brother, Santiago, was the person behind his sister's death but he never read it.

Meanwhile, Angelli tried to tell Jose Emilio about Santiago's involvement in Dulce's death but Jose Emilio would not let her talk about anything other than their wedding. They eventually got married and left for their honeymoon. Angelli seemed on edge because she still wanted to tell Jose Emilio the truth. Unfortunately, he ended up reading the letter Rebecca had left in his luggage and was he was furious with Angelli. He cut their honey moon trip short and went back home to have Santiago arrested.

At this point, Angelli could only seek forgiveness from Jose Emilio but he would not listen to her because he thought she was covering up for Santiago. After Santiago was arrested, Emilio left home and went to stay at the ranch so that he could stay away from Angelli. She decided to follow him to try and explain herself again and Rebecca offered to drive her.

Jose Emilio ended up kicking Angelli out of the ranch because he did not want to forgive her. Angelli was hurt because they had agreed not to let anything come between them. She left in the middle of a storm and almost drowned in the river but Jose Emilio rushed out to rescue her. Seeing how close he was to losing Angelli, he decided to reconcile with her. Rebecca was there to see it all and was not happy because she wants to have Jose Emilio for herself. Will she be able to ruin their marriage?
