Kibao Vodka, a Kenya Wines Agencies Limited (KWAL) product, has been ranked 86th in the Top 100 World's Fastest-Growing Spirits brands list according to data from IWSR Drinks Market Analysis research. The rankings analyses each company's performance in terms of case volume, which is directly related to how popular a product is at a consumer level. A company's unit case volume represents the number of unit cases of beverage products directly or indirectly sold by the Company and its associate bottling partners to customers. By this metric, IWSR notes that Kibao 's volume grew to 114.7 percent, recording 365,000 nine-liter cases in 2018, up from 175,000 nine-liter cases in 2017. Kibao was the only Kenyan brand to make it on the list. It shared the spotlight with top ranking international spirits such as Johnnie Walker Scotch whisky, Jameson Whiskey and Baileys Cream Liqueur.
South African company Distell, which holds a major shareholding stake in KWAL, recently highlighted KWAL's impressive performance, led by Kibao and Hunter's Choice, in their annual report, which also states, "Our alcoholic beverages markets in Africa remain largely resilient, achieving seven percent volume growth on the previous year, driven by exceptional triple-digit volume and revenue growth in Kenya (Kibao and Hunter's Choice) and strong performance in Botswana, Lesotho, Namibia and Swaziland."
Kibao vodka is available in 250ml, 350ml and 750ml and retails at between KS 200 and KS 700.
