For anyone interested in the 2024 movie 'The Crow', it has left me with mixed feelings that I am still trying to decipher; it does not quite meet the expectations I had at the start of it.

The film tries to juggle between too many genres at once, and as a result, it feels like it has many incomplete plot stories. Instead of delving deeply into the emotional side of things, it gets lost in action and violence. The idea of two troubled teenagers finding solace in each other is intriguing, but it was not fully explored.

The core of the film; the love story, struggles in its execution. Instead of a genuine, heartfelt romance, it comes across as more of a lustful relationship and I did not feel the deep love they attempted to portray between Eric and Shelly. The film seems to be pushing a message about not doubting your love for someone, regardless of what they do, but it felt unrealistic and did not resonate with me.

Despite that, the movie's cinematography was top-notch with mesmerizing scenes that were captivating. There was some humor in the dark storyline which was refreshing between all the intense killing scenes. Although I felt that the actress playing Shelly (Sofia Shinas) was a bit unnatural in her performance, most of the actors were natural, especially the protagonist playing Eric (Bill Skarsgård) who played his role as though it was real life.

Overall, "The Crow 2024" has some interesting ideas, but it struggles to tie them all together in a way that makes sense. The result is a movie that feels disjointed and doesn't quite land the emotional punch it's aiming for.
