'12 Strong' Review: An Ode to Selfless Heroes Who Risk It All for Humanity

12 Strong is the new Chris Hemsworth starrer based on the bestselling non-fiction writings of renowned American journalist Doug Stanton. His book dubbed Horse Soldiers is a re-enactment of the war waged against the Taliban in Afghanistan.
After the dreadful 9/11 terrorist attacks, the US went to war on the Taliban who were harbouring al-Qaeda fighters. A CIA paramilitary group composed of 12 daring soldiers get deployed to Afghanistan to attack the Taliban. Fighting against all odds - outnumbered and outgunned - they go through nerve-wracking confrontations with the enemy.
The most apparent thing that is brought to light is the admirable sense of selflessness that the soldiers bring to this dangerous mission. The gunfights, fallen soldiers and continuous action throughout the film, not to mention how real it feels will leave you glued to the screen. It has to be one of the most believable movies to hit the screen in 2018 so far. Which is utterly surprising considering its menial budget by Hollywood standards of $35 million.
The mystery and life-or-death urgency are all very exciting. One wrong move could jeopardize the whole mission and leave a family fatherless and broken. Definitely a worthy watch.
