Overview
In the face of formidable adversity, African women are emerging as a paradigm of resilience and determination. Kenyan and Ugandan businesswomen are defying the odds to make their mark in the marketplace, fueled by their unwavering drive to provide for their families, educate their children, and secure a brighter future.
African Women Rising "In Their Words" is a poignant 23-minute documentary film that delves into the daily lives of these remarkable women. Despite navigating bottlenecks, facing limited access to financing, and overcoming entrenched cultural barriers, they have persevered, leveraging their grit, tenacity, and entrepreneurial acumen to overcome countless obstacles.
These unsung heroes run thriving businesses, from restaurants, catering, design, hotels, honey production, natural oil and soaps, food vending, fresh food supplies, to technology and more, all have dreams and aspirations to build larger businesses, create employment, and contribute to the local economy.
Their resilience, hard work, and determination inspired me to give tell their stories with the support of I Profile Foundation, a financial literacy nonprofit. Through their stories, I hope to inspire other women and demonstrate for people all over the world the power of enterprising women. I hope to help them connect their business with other networks and investors for possible investment or collaboration opportunities.
