It has always been associated with tragedy, bad luck and caution, a sentiment I strongly believe as a result of eerie or strange things happening to me on that day. This year, I do not plan on continuing to wallow in my fear and instead intend on distracting myself by attending this year's Friday the 13th Horror Hangout. For our horror enthusiasts, this occasion is the ideal one to embrace everything eerie, creepy and sinister. During this event, presented by the Horror Fan Club Kenya, I'm embracing the thrill of the unknown rather than running away from bad luck. This event is expected to be an incredible horror celebration that will transform a superstitious day into an exciting night of terror.
Given how closely Friday the 13th corresponds with ill fortune and all things spooky, it makes perfect sense to host an event of this nature on that day. A showing of the iconic horror-comedy "Beetlejuice", which appropriately embodies the spirit of laughing in the face of terror, opens the hangout. After that, there will be a creative scavenger hunt with a horror theme, honoring the day's infamous reputation while tapping into our phobias.
