Angela and Leonardo were planning on getting back together once he was divorced from Alma but things changed when Alma found out she was pregnant. She threatened to take Leonardo's child away if he broke up with her so he was forced to stay married to her and end his plans with Angela.

Angela was far along in her pregnancy but she suddenly went to labor at 8 months. Fortunately, she was with Mr. Vega, who called for an ambulance. Leonardo took the call and abandoned Alma at the clinic during a checkup. Alma took offense and Leonardo had to explain that she was fine while Angela was not. He rushed over to Angela and ended up delivering the baby in the ambulance.

Since the baby was born early, there were some complications and Leonardo was afraid that it might lead to long term damage on the baby. Angela and Alvaro were devastated and hoped that their child would be fine.

Meanwhile, Alma was furious because Leonardo's attention on Angela did not go away even with her pregnancy. She therefore asked for her mother in law's advice on how she could make him focus only on her and their baby. Mirta told Alma that she had to make herself more important than Angela in Leonardo's wife so he is forced to choose her.
