Instagram Launches TikTok Rival, Reels
Instagram has officially launched Reels, a short-form video sharing feature in the application that allows users to express themselves. Believed to be TikTok's direct competitor, the feature allows creators to record up to 15 seconds of short, fun videos which you can add music, effects and filters of choice. The roll out began on Wednesday in 50 countries globally.On the damning similarities between Reels and TikTok, Instagram's product director, Robby Stein, in a statement to the Verge said "no two products are exactly alike, and ours are not either." Samsung Unveils New Devices at 'Unpacked Event'
Samsung introduced its 2020 flagship models on Wednesday with a virtual event broadcast from South Korea due to the COVID-19 pandemic, which limits gathering. The tech giant revealed five new devices including several Galaxy Note 20 model smartphones, Smart Watch 3, Galaxy Z Fold 2 and Galaxy Tab S7.The Galaxy Note 20 will include two models, the Note 20 and the Note Ultra whose prices will range between Kshs. 100,000 and Kshs. 140,000. Pre-orders for the Galaxy Note 10 upgrades begin today, with an official sale date slated for August 21.Samsung's latest flagship foldable phone, the Galaxy Z Fold 2, will have two infinity-O displays, a 6.2-inch outer and 7.6-inch inner (and main display) screen alongside an ultra-thin glass. Fans got a sneak peek of the upcoming DC Comics' flick "Wonder Woman 1984" on Wednesday. The Patty Jenkins-directed new action clip introduces Kristen Wiig as archaeologist Barbara Minerva, Diana's friend (Gal Gadot), who gradually transforms an animalistic power "Cheetah", that fronts her evil side.The film's synopsis, according to IMDB, reads: Fast forward to the 1980s as Wonder Woman's next big screen adventure finds her facing two all-new foes: Max Lord and The Cheetah.
