Marina and Alberto agreed to end their marriage after Alberto failed to accept Marina's child. Alberto asked everyone around him not to give him any news regarding Marina and they have been estranged ever since. This however did not last long and the two have found themselves together yet again.After Marina gained the ability to see, she secured a job as a receptionist for Doctor Bazan, the same doctor who operated on her. She soon found out that Alberto worked at the same hospital and she  was finally able to put a face to the man she loved. She however did not like working at the same place as him.
