Nyanye Osborne Macharia Style Grannies Kenya

Digital photographer Osborne Macharia has done something that has probably never been done when it comes to Kenyan fashion photography. A photo shoot project with older women posing as the models.

In a series titled Nyanye, Osborne captures in splashy colours the uncharacteristic style of mature women with the help of three ageless subjects who were once corporate and government leaders in the 1970’s.

The images captures their fabulous globetrotting lifestyle.

The fashion world has recently woken up to the beauty and style of older women. Sports Illustrated had some of their best sales of their annual Swimsuit Issue with their most recent one which features 56-year-old bikini clad model Nicola Griffin. The just concluded London Fashion Week too celebrated older women when they launched 50-Plus Fashion Week– a 25 minute catwalk show that features some of the world's oldest models.
