Looking at that statue gave me a good belly laugh with my friends. But, honestly, what's our counties' craze with statues? Nakuru County became the laughing stock on Twitter after Kenyans got to see photos of a flamingo statue that looked, errh, quite big for its size.
What makes the dinosaur-sized flamingo funny to look at is that it stands next to a cow statue. A supposed Friesian cow that we won't even talk about for now. And guess what? The flamingo is bigger than the cow. Oh well. I guess nowadays things have to be seriously scrutinized. I'm sure we've seen more bizarre statues before but I understand that our government needs to deliver the best. After all, we're paying for these things right?
The Nakuru County spokesperson, Beatrice Obwocha, said that the statues were left behind by a group of artists who were showcasing their talent. So no, this is not the county government's doing. Ha! Someone also snapped Nyeri County's mega-sized rabbit and what in the actual world?

Nakuru County better learn from Sonko's lion of Nairobi. A perfect case study. Here are some of the funny reactions from Kenyans on the Nakuru flamingo statue.
