I don't know how many times I rewatched Lilo & Stitch as a kid, but I can tell you this: it was enough to convince me that my life would be infinitely better with a blue, chaos-loving alien by my side, specifically Stitch. That mischief-making, Elvis-listening ball of trouble somehow made loneliness feel a little less lonely.

Now, years later, the live-action Lilo & Stitch is landing and though I'm a lot older now, I'm so here for it. This story is timeless. It's chaotic and hilarious and oddly emotional. And if there's one movie today's kids need to see, it's this one.

For those who've never seen it, the story follows a little Hawaiian girl who adopts what she believes is a dog, only to find out he's a chaotic alien experiment on the run. As she tries to tame his wild ways, the two form an unlikely bond that teaches them, and everyone around them, that family means no one gets left behind or forgotten. Set in the tropical paradise of Hawaii, the film blends heart, humor, and action in a story about love, acceptance, and finding where you truly belong.

Grab your ohana and the snacks because the 2025 reboot is the messy, heartwarming ride we've been waiting for. I'll be crying (again), still dreaming of a Stitch of my own, but I'd probably prefer one that doesn't trash the place in five seconds.
