After facing backlash from Hindu fundamentalists in India, makers of the film Laxmii Bomb finally bowed down to pressure and changed the name to Laxmii. Aggrieved parties alleged that the inclusion of the word bomb "hurt religious sentiments and was an insult to Goddess Laxmi".
A Hindu-Muslim couple- husband Asif & wife Rashmi, who had eloped years earlier- get an invitation from Rashmi's estranged parents to "hash things out". Asif is all too happy to finally meet his parents-in-law but Rashmi warns him they're extremely superstitious.
Asif wears out his superstitious father-in-law with his nihilism and his determination to prove ghosts don't exist. But that doesn't work out too well for him and he accidentally awakens the ghost of a murdered transgender woman who possesses him.
Then the wild ride begins. Rashmi's parents have to find a way to protect the rest of the  family from possessed Asif and also find a way to exorcise him. Religion, progressive politics and superstition clash in this 2 hour comedy- horror.
