The red carpet award ceremony saw Hollywood's A-list celebrities make their way to the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles on Thursday night. RnB musician and 'The Masked Singer' winner T-Pain played host to the music event's sixth annual edition which proved nothing short of beautiful performances and acceptance speeches in the winners' galore!
The Performances
Alicia Keys and her eight-year-old son, Egypt Dean stole the limelight from the award winners when she invited him to join her on stage for a piano duet after her amazing 'Raise a Man' performance. 'Ladies and gentlemen, I wanna bring my son Egypt out here, the man that I get to raise.'
Ariana Grande may have been a no show at the event, but she recorded a performance of her melody 'Needy' from her #1 album 'Thank U, Next' for the award ceremony.

Ella Mai did an exotic 'Trip' performance ahead of her major wins at the awards ceremony. Other performances included that of Lauv, Lovelytheband, Marshmello and country music star Garth Brooks.
The Wins
Song of the Year
The biggest award of the night was garnered by a Zedd, Maren Morris and Grey​ collaboration for the peak #5 Billboard hit, 'The Middle', edging out worthy competitors 'Perfect' and 'Girls Like You'. Zedd and team also won in the 'Dance Song of the Year' category.

Artist of the Year
Attributed to her massive success in the past few months, Ariana Grande bagged 'Female Artist of the Year','Pop Vocal Album' and 'Artist of the Year' awards with 'In My Feelings' star Drake scooping the award in the 'Male Artist of the Year' category.

Hip Hop Categories
Drake's 'God's Plan' seemingly captured the hearts of many around worldwide to win the prestigious 'Hip-Hop Song of the Year' award with rap counterpart Cardi B being crowned 'Hip-Hop Artist of the Year'. Bloc Boy JB won in 'Best New Hip-Hop Artist' category thanks to his chart-topper 'Look Alive' featuring Drake.

'Boo'd Up' singer Ella Mai scooped all the awards she was nominated for in the RnB categories including 'Best New Artist', 'Artist of the Year' and 'RnB Song of the Year'.

Best Music Video
Taylor Swift did not leave empty-handed as 'Delicate' won in the socially voted category. The track was favored over Lil Dicky's 'Freaky Friday', Cardi B's 'I Like It' and Childish Gambino's 'This Is America' among seven others.
Swift also won 'Tour Of the Year' with her 'Reputation' stadium tour.
