After working things out with Natalia, Diego plans to get divorced from Diana. This was after Natalia got accused of dealing drugs, a plan Diana orchestrated to get her in trouble. Diana planted drugs in Natalia's office and then reported her to the police. Diego however came to the rescue and got Natalia released.
When Natalia was arrested, Diego had an investigation carried out in order to prove her innocence. Eleazar led the investigation and found out that the bag actually contained baking soda and not real drugs. Natalia's fingerprints were not found on the bag as well. Natalia was grateful to Diego for helping her and the two made up. She was also willing to give their relationship a chance under the condition that he got divorced from Diana.
After Diana's plan failed, she got desperate and was more eager to keep Diego by her side. She came up with a new plan by pretending to take pills and was hospitalized for an overdose. She told Diego that she was going to kill herself if he decided to leave her. Diego was therefore forced to pause the divorce proceedings as Diana recovered. Diego is now caught in a difficult situation because Natalia is expecting him to file for divorce from Diana. Will he choose to stay with Diana and give up on his love for Natalia?
