The Future Of Local And Diaspora Gifting Is Finally Here

eGift Africa, a brand of the global gift card network Giift.com, have in partnership with EatOut Kenya launched Africa’s first and only international gift card service. We’ve all been in a situation where we just don’t know what to pick out for someone’s special occasion. Most people go with the safe cliché gift; others choose to go out on a limb and hope.

eGift Africa have introduced a simpler way with the launch of their gift cards, e-gift cards and universal gift cards. It’s a very simple concept really. You can either gift a digital card or a physical card preloaded with an amount of money of your choice to be spent at a particular participating brand store. The Universal Gift Card, which is not bound by merchant, comes in form of Ksh 1,000 and Ksh 2,500 vouchers, both in paper.

To start, simply visit egiftafrica.com and select the “Buy Card” option. You will be prompted to input the recipient’s email and pay the value you want through VISA, MasterCard, American Express or Mpesa. Within two hours, the recipient receives their eGift Card courtesy of you along with your personalized message. The card bears a unique QR code that can be scanned at the cashier stand of the respective brand’s store.

A good list of retail brands and restaurants are already signed up as merchants including Tuskys, Artcaffe, Bata, Caramel Restaurant and Lounge, M.A.C, About Thyme, Sierra Bar and Grill, Hotpoint Appliances,  Kaya Spa at the Tribe Hotel and many more.

This is a really good idea because it makes gifting that much easier. It’s quick, simple, personalized, and not geo-restricted as you can easily gift across borders.
