Self love and awareness is critical to the self esteem of young girls. In a world that tells young girls to shrink themselves and conform to societal standards in order to fit in, The Confidence Queen (TCQ) organization  wants to amplify the voices of girls aged 8-19.
The pandemic hit girls the hardest by upending their education and social relations. A record number of teenage pregnancies were reported in 2020 and child labour, mostly performed by girls, increased dramatically.
This paints a grim picture of the situation most young girls in Kenya are in and TCQ is playing its part to ameliorate the situation.
Through their 10 week Confidence Building and Mentorship program, they aim to mentor young girls on how to improve their grades, choose fulfilling career paths, make positive life decisions and be confident in a world that wants to shrink them.
Every Saturday from December 4th to Feb 26th 2022, young girls in Nairobi will converge at Plainsview AIC to learn from the professional mentors at TCQ and gain lifetime skills to navigate the world.
