The 121st Kenya Horticultural Society Nairobi District Flower and Plant Show will take place on May 17th - May 19th 2019 at the SSDS Temple along Lower Kabete Rd.The Flower and Plant Show consists of two parts and the original idea was for members and non-members to showcase their best plants, and so they have the option of creating displays or show just one plant.In the display sections so far the organisers have received entries from Kenya Horticultural Society Districts - Nairobi, Nakuru & Thika, Succulenta Society, Orchid Society, Commercial landscapers and growers such as Mandhari Plants & Designs Ltd, George Barua, EZ Plants and many entries from private gardens - potted plants, cut flowers, best blooms, etc.The judging will take place on Friday late morning and prize giving on Friday afternoon after the show closes at 5.30 p.m when cups and certificates are handed out.  The Kenya Floral Arrangement Club will also be exhibiting at the show and showcasing their innovative & creative flower arrangements.Many different commercial companies (23 confirmed sellers so far) will also be selling their plants - potted house plants, garden plants, orchids, succulents as well as terracotta and plastic pots. Organic fertilizers will be on sale too. The Institute of Beekeeping and essential oils will be on site as well.Additionally, KHS will hold a raffle and the proceeds from the raffle with go towards providing vegetable grow bags or towers to 5 or more government schools around Nairobi with the aim of showing how easily one can grow vegetables in the smallest space in an urban environment.The show is free for members and Ksh. 200 for non-members.Download the 2019 Flower Show Schedule here
