Fourth Asian Weekly Achievers Awards Ceremony Fetes Society’s Movers and Shakers

Asian Weekly Achievers Awards 2017 Winners

600 people were at hand to witness as the glamorous 2017 Asian Weekly Achievers Awards (TAWAA) ceremony recognized achievers in society at the Loresho SightFirst Eye Hospital this past Saturday, March 4, 2017. Among them was Indian High Commissioner to Kenya Her Excellency Suchitra Durai, and renowned human rights lawyer and poet Pheroze Nowrojee.

Awards were given out to 17 categories featuring over 80 nominees who included personalities, businesses, brands and organisations. Winners were picked through public voting across various social media platforms.

The event was hosted by Gupz Saund, Pooja Kotedia-Patel and Martin Kariuki who did a great job keeping the audience engaged with hilarious back-and-forth banter. Performances for the night featured students of Kamini’s School of Dancing, Saahas Dance Academy and Desi Souls who lit the stage with some of Bollywood’s finest and newest tunes.

Later on in the show, a fundraiser in aid of famine relief was also held under the trending hashtag #FunWithFareedForFamineRelief.
